Bucket Sculpture
Posted by Simon
Many years ago I worked in the bucket industry. I loved buckets so when I came across this bucket sculpture I was jealous, nostalgic and awed.
Plastic Buckets as art. What a wonderful world.

Global Warming
Posted by Simon
I know almost everybody wants to believe that global warming is:
- A Fact
- Caused by Humans
- An Impending Disaster
- “An Inconvenient Truth”
Now along comes a web site that shows some other evidence.
If you are the least bit skeptical check out CO2facts
Remember Scientific American was wrong 100 years ago about Eugenics.
Maybe if global warming happens we will all live in lush beautiful rain forests like this one in Thailand.
My friend Howard Rotter had an epiphany in which he saw that Man’s Holy Purpose is to release the sequestered Carbon in the earth in order to restore the naturally higher CO2 levels and end the 75 million year period of desertification.

Carbon Credits as a Holiday Gift
Posted by Simon
At lunch today Gary D and I were talking about global warming and eating raw fish to keep the ovens and by extension the planet cool. We got the holiday spirit and came up with the idea of buying carbon credits as gifts. It turns out they already exist. So if you are worried about global warming you can assuage some of your guilt about your energy footprint by giving the gift of carbon credits this year. Once upon a time coal in your stocking meant you had been bad but now it shows extreme sensitivity. Giving coal or anti-coal, I’m not sure which, is easy. Try this link Carbon credits.
Or just google: “carbon credits, gifts” and take your pick it is easy to do and doesn’t hurt. Whether it really helps is still an open question to me. To read my arguments on global warming click here To read the Pasadena Protocol click here.

A New Collectable

Do you recognize what is in this picture? You can click on the picture to see a larger image.
They are the little label that come on fruit, you know, with the secret code number. I predict that they will become a serious collectable in the next few years. I checked e-bay and there are already a few for sale in amongst the vintage orange crate labels. Imagine the joy of having a 1995 Gala Apple 3548 from Oregon in mint condition. I think they will be the postage stamps of the future.
This would be a great project for elementary school teachers. The kids could collect a free thing that would relate to geography, health and math It would be a fun learning experience. They could stick them all on a world map board for instance or try to figure out the secret behind the code numbers.
The reason I have such great ideas is that I am an Ideopreneur.

Free Hugs
Posted by Simon
When we were at the Washington Monument last Wednesday morning Juan Mann, the Free Hugs guy was there and I got a free hug.
It was a very good hug. His movement which has been featured on Oprah is a very nice simple thing. We all need to stop and smile a bit and give each other a hug. Thanks Juan for reminding us, for the hug and for the movement.
There are lots of free hugs photos like these on Flickr and they are worth a look.
