One of the new buildings
It was a wonderful way to spend a few hours. We commented that this is the kind of tour we take when we travel to other cities but we had never seen LA this way before. Thanks to Michael for making this possible. Click here to see the good photos

Amazing Grace
Posted by Simon
Nurit and I saw Amazing Grace on Friday night. I was very moved by the story because of my work for the right to migrate. The struggle against slavery was fought initially by a few Quakers. William Wilberforce, the star of this movie, was one of the first politicians to take up the cause.
This is what Nurit called a “talking movie”. Its subject is thought provoking, the characters and acting are captivating and it is absolutely worth seeing.

Codgers in Cozumel 2/07
Posted by Simon
The Codger Divers had a great trip to Cozumel, QR Mexico last week. We stayed at the Iberostar Resort on an all inclusive package and it was excellent.
We dove with Dive With Martin and it was near perfect. Roberto was our dive master and Jorge was the boat captain.
Nobody drowned and we learned to drift dive.
We saw some large sharks
Improved Pruning Shears
Posted by Simon
This one is for gardeners who have a little arthritis in there hands. When you are pruning your hands start to hurt and you just don’t have the strength to cut through the larger branches like you used to.
Prune Assist
This is a marriage of that wonderful battery/electric toothbrush technology with pruning shears. Someone else will have to figure out if the motion should be vibrating, squeezing or chopping. But it is a sure thing that a little electromechanical assist will make it a lot easier to cut branches. The person that brings this product to market will make a lot of money.

Gary Trudeau has done it again. His strip from yesterday explains in six boxes why Iraq is such a mess. You can still read it on Slate:

Cozumel Diving
Posted by Simon
I`m spending this week diving with the Codger Divers in Cozumel. The Hotel Iberostar is excellent but the internet connections are not good, so I`m not able to read email. It is a big system shock. The diving is very good. We have been going out with Dive with Martin and seeing excellent stuff every day. Nobody has drowned and Joel got certified.
Life is good.
Tijuana Dogs
Posted by Simon
These are some dogs we saw in Tijuana on Tuesday:
A Mexican Brown Dog who looks just like my dog Missy.
A pack of Chihuahuas living on a roof.
A white fluffy dog on a rare leash.
You can tell a lot about a country by how they treat their dogs. Mexican dogs have a lot more freedom than American dogs but in general they have a much harder and shorter life.
