Dinky Toys
Posted by Simon
When I was a boy back in Olean I used to play with “Dinky Toys.” They are small die cast toys not unlike their successors Corgi toys. I had forgotten all about them until I received a scout car in the mail from my friend Brock S.
I immediately went out and played with it in the yard just like old times and took this picture. Brock always did give the best birthday presents. Here is a link to a site dedicated to Dinky Toys. It features the extremely rare Weetabix truck.

Galapagos 4

Here are some photos from our trip last week to the Galapagos with Lindblad Expeditions. The most amazing thing was that the birds and animals were not afraid of humans. I’ll post more of my thoughts about the islands and more pictures on Flickr next week when I get back from Wyoming.

Here are a few photos of some sculptures I like:
I bought a few ants in Mexico last year
Lenin and Stalin are from China
about 16″ high
Ditto for Chairman Mao
This Giraffe is from Mexico
about 20″ tall
These next few pieces are by Carole Babcock. I saw her work in the beautiful back yard of Vern and Sarah O in Pasadena. I don’t own one yet but I’m planning to.
These pieces are very reasonably prices and extremely well crafted. If you want to get in touch with Carole email me and I’ll put you in touch.
