This is some great advise from Ben Stein

I have been working for the last week with my brilliant nephew Matt Geldin creating our families first ever Digital Holiday Card.  I expect that over the next few years I’ll be able to substantially eliminate sending snail mail cards.  As will almost everybody else.  Another nail in the coffin of the post office.

Why would I keep sending post cards but try to stop sending Christmas cards?  For me postcards are art and Christmas cards feel like an obligation. Check it out click this link:

Digital Holiday Card

I was just looking at yesterday’s post.  How do you take a good picture of a black cat?

Rebecca’s cat Evelyn doesn’t have much experience outside.  She has been learning.  Here are two pictures of her exploring in our tropical garden area.

She is easy to lose in the shadows.  So far she hasn’t learned how to use the dog door.

The temperature is in the 60′s, there is a dusting of snow on the mountains, a palm tree in the foreground and a beautiful blue sky.  It is December in Pasadena.

I took this picture from the car while waiting for a traffic light.

There was a news story last week that Dick Clark is going to be doing some New Years Eve Festivities again this year.  Maybe on the Codger Network.  He has been doing it for 38 years.  That is too long.

We can’t make Dick Clark stop making a fool of himself.  But we can do a Dick Clark analysis of our own lives and let go of some things that we have been doing for decades.  For example this year Nurit and I have passed Thanksgiving to Lillian.  On the other side of the ledger Nurit’s Dad is having a Dick Clark moment and can’t give up trying to maintain his own PC’s even though he can’t get to them physically.

Don’t be Dick Clark!

If you are having a bad day it will cheer you up to know that you are almost certainly having a better day than Tiger Woods.

Who would ever have thought we could say that.
