Prosopagnosia
Posted by Simon
You are at an event and someone says hello to you. You have no clue who they are. Don’t you hate when that happens. It could be that you are suffering from prosopagnosia. Yes it is a clinically recognized disorder and it has an expensive sounding name. Prosopagnosia is the inability to recognize faces.
Who is this?
I suppose that it won’t be long before there is a disorder named for the inability to stop posting on facebook. Or one for people who compulsively write blogs.
Claremont Henge
Posted by Simon
I was helping my nephew Matt move a couch last week. And passed a Monterey style home on Indian Hill Blvd in Claremont, CA that had a mini-henge.
After delivering the couch I of course circled back to take some pictures. The house is a classical tile roofed Monterey with a dramatic ten foot trilithon and a very mysterious hitching stone in front.
The hitching stone in the parkway has large iron bolt and what appears to be an ancient Anasazi snail design.
The single trilithon is a beauty.
Well done.
Rules of Life
Posted by Simon
This set of rules was written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, columnist for The Plain Dealer in Cleveland , Ohio.
As an introduction she wrote: “To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 45 lessons life taught me. It is the most-requested column I’ve ever written. My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:
1. Life isn’t fair, but it’s still good.
2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.
3. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone…
4. Your job won’t take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and parents will. Stay in touch.
5. Pay off your credit cards every month.
6. You don’t have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.
7. Cry with someone. It’s more healing than crying alone.
8. It’s OK to get angry with God. He can take it.
9. Save for retirement starting with your first paycheck.
10. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.
There are another 35 all worth reading.

Do people in wheelchairs leave “carbon footprints?”
An Ethical Dilemma

DECISIONS
You are driving down the road in your car on a wild, stormy night,
when you pass by a bus stop and you see three people waiting for the
bus:
1. An old lady who looks as if she is about to die.
2. An old friend who once saved your life.
3. The perfect partner you have been dreaming about.
Which one would you choose to offer a ride to, knowing that there
could only be one passenger in your car? Think before you continue
reading.
