Bellflower Public Art
Posted by Simon
Michael S. and I went down to Bellflower and Santa Fe Springs on Sunday morning to look at some public art. Michael is an expert on the public art in LA and an excellent adventure companion. It was sunny in Pasadena so I extrapolated twenty miles to sunny in Bellflower but was wrong. Even with the overcast the “Invitation/Decalogue” in Bellflower was pretty impressive.
It is not clear what the circle of golden fiberglass tusks are supposed to represent but they looked cool and kind of hengy
The installation will be at the corner of Bellflower Blvd. and the railway tracks until November. This more traditional bronze is a permanent installation at the old train station nearby:
Tomorrow public art in Santa Fe Springs. A surprising collection.

San Francisco again. The City Council is considering a ban on selling pets.
Our Dog Missy
The article in the SF Chronicle says that the council wants to stop people from abandoning pets. Message to the SF City Council: “Life is messy. Leave us alone to make our own mistakes.” Thanks to Frank M. for this nanny state story.
